COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids announced today their schedule for the 2023 Major League Soccer regular season.
The Burgundy Boys will kick off their 28th MLS campaign on Sunday, Feb. 26, with a trip Lumen Field to take on Seattle Sounders FC (6 p.m. MT; FS1, Fox Deportes, Apple TV) before returning to Colorado to host Sporting Kansas City in their home opener at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park on Saturday, March 4 (7:30 p.m. MT; Apple TV).
Colorado will play 34 regular season matches in 2023—17 at home and 17 on the road—along with taking part in the inaugural Leagues Cup, a midseason competition that will pit the Rapids and all MLS clubs against all of Mexico’s Liga MX teams in a month-long, World Cup-style tournament from July 21 to August 19. The full Leagues Cup schedule will be announced at a later date.
Notable home matchups in 2023 include a visit from defending MLS Cup champions LAFC on April 1, St. Louis CITY SC’s first trip to Colorado on April 22, the Rapids’ annual 4thFest match on July 4 against the Portland Timbers and a Decision Day clash against Rocky Mountain Cup rivals Real Salt Lake on October 21. The club’s full schedule is available at ColoradoRapids.com/schedule; all matches will be streamed via the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on Altitude Sports Radio.
In addition to their regular season and Leagues Cup participation, the Rapids will also compete in the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Scheduling information for the tournament will be announced by U.S. Soccer at a later date.
