COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids announced today their preseason schedule ahead of the 2023 Major League Soccer season.Â
The Rapids squad will report for preseason on January 6 before beginning health and fitness testing the following day at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park. The team will then travel to Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico, on January 12 where the Rapids will be based at altitude through the end of the month for the first phase of their preseason training camp. During their time in Mexico, the Rapids will take part in closed-door friendlies against Liga MX side Querétaro FC, along with Liga de Expansión MX sides Celaya FC and Mineros de Zacatecas.
Following a brief return to Colorado, the Rapids will travel to Orlando, Florida, on February 5 for the second phase of their preseason preparations. They will face off against fellow MLS clubs Orlando City SC and Philadelphia Union in a pair of closed-door friendlies on February 11 and February 18, respectively, along with USL Championship side Miami FC on Feb. 15. The Rapids will remain in Orlando through February 23 before departing to Seattle, Washington, ahead of their 2023 MLS season opener against Seattle Sounders FC at Lumen Field on Sunday, February 26 (6 p.m. MT; FS1, MLS Season Pass).
