Top youth clubs from across the United States will converge in Phoenix over the next five days for the 2010 US Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase.
All 78 teams that comprise the Development Academy are scheduled to attend, including 14 MLS Academy teams at both the U-15/16 and U-17/18 levels.
Those teams will contest a total of 236 games from Dec. 3-7, giving youth coaches and technical directors around the league a chance to evaluate young talent against some of other top youth players around the nation.
Matches will be contested on a daily basis, with a short afternoon break on Saturday for two Academy Select matches. One will be contested between two select teams at the U-15/16 level, while another at the U-17/18 level later in the day. Youth national team coaches and US Soccer Technical Advisors will select these four squads.
