Major League Soccer announced on Monday afternoon that Colorado Rapids forward Diego Rubio has earned a spot on the Team of the Week roster for Week 33. Rubio scored the game-winning goal in Colorado's 1-0 victory over Dallas on Saturday, during the Rapids' final home game for 2022.
Rubio's goal came in the 66th minute off a pass from Michael Barrios that traversed the 18-yard box. It was the Chilean striker's 13th game-winning goal in for the Rapids, sending him past Paul Bravo for most in club history.
The goal was No. 15 on the season for Rubio, leaving him one away from Conor Casey's single-season club record of 16 goals.
Rubio and the rest of the Burgundy Boys will now head to Texas to face Austin FC on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. MT.
