For our first HealthONE Player of the Month for 2017 the choices come from defense, midfield and attack, with Micheal Azira, Dominique Badji and Marc Burch.
Azira has picked up where he left off in 2016 with his no-nonsense approach in the center of the park. The Uganda international was named Man-of-the-Match following the 2-2 home tie with Minnesota United FC.
Badji leads the club’s scoring charts after three games having netted in both home contests, including the match-winner against New England Revolution in the season opener, and the first of the night against Minnesota.
Burch, meanwhile, was part of a defense which kept a clean sheet in game one, and was a big threat on the offensive side of play in the match with Minnesota, delivering the inch-perfect cross for the Rapids’ equalizer. He was also named on the ‘bench’ for the MLS Team of the Week (Week 3).
