COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Friday, August 10, 2012) – Colorado Rapids forward Omar Cummings has been called up to the Jamaican National Team for an international friendly against El Salvador in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qualifying tournament. The Reggae Boyz are scheduled to take on El Salvador at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 15 in Washington, D.C., and Cummings will join the team following the Rapids match on Saturday at FC Dallas.
Cummings, 30, made his debut for the Reggae Boyz on July 28, 2008, also against El Salvador, and has made 28 total appearances and scored seven goals for his country. For the Rapids, Cummings has scored five goals in 19 games this season, adding one assist.
The Rapids will take on FC Dallas this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. MT at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The match will be broadcast live on Altitude, Mile High Sports Radio on 93.7 FM or 1510 AM, and ESPN Deportes Radio on 87.7 FM. The Coors Light Away Game Viewing Party will be hosted at The British Bulldog in downtown Denver and at Connor O’Neill’s Pub in Boulder.
