Kei Kamara
opened the scoring in the ninth minute of the Colorado Rapids 4-3 loss against Orlando City SC on Saturday night. In doing so, he broke a tie with
Ante Razov
to move into sole possession of the No. 5 spot on Major League Soccer’s all-time leading goals list.
Kamara's milestone moment came early in the first half, as he brought down a floated ball in from Dillon Serna and then calmly sent a left-footed shot past Orlando goalkeeper Brian Rowe. The strike was Kamara’s third for the Rapids since
joining the club on December 11, 2018.
The 34-year-old was drafted ninth overall by Columbus Crew SC back in 2006 and since then, the striker has amassed an impressive 120 goals and 45 assists in 332 (25,143 minutes) MLS regular and postseason appearances. Last season, Kamara scored 17 goals and notched six assists in all competitions for Vancouver. Kamara’s 13-year MLS career has also seen the striker spend time with the New England Revolution, Sporting Kansas City, Houston Dynamo and San Jose Earthquakes.
It doesn't appear Kamara is slowing down athletically, so the question really becomes - how high can he climb up the all-time ranks?

Kamara needs 19 more goals to pass Jaime Moreno and 20 to move into the top three and pass Jeff Cunningham in the process. He's played every minute so far this season and is currently averaging 0.5 goals per game. If the striker maintained that average through the remaining 28 games on the
schedule,
he’d have an additional 14 goals to his total. That would give Kamara 129 career goals, moving him well within striking distance of both Moreno and Cunningham in the near future.
