If the Rapids are to end their six-game winless streak on Friday night, then a number of factors must come into play at home to Vancouver Whitecaps FC (TICKETS).
First off they will need to be creative, which is where midfielder Dillon Powers may play a part. Though sitting as a defensive midfielder in recent games, he has the ability and vision to open up the opposition. Through 127 games for the Rapids, Powers has 25 assists.
Powers, in his new role, will also be expected to stem the flow of Fredy Montero. The 29-year-old Colombian returned to MLS this year, on loan from Chinese club Tianjin Teda. He has played the same number of MLS games as Powers but, as a forward, boasts an impressive 51 goals and 35 assists. Already this season he leads the Whitecaps' scoring chart with four goals.

The 2013 MLS Rookie of the Year, Dillon Powers will look to get back to top form in 2017 in an attacking position for the Colorado Rapids. His creativity makes him a special player for the club.
|
What they say … |

Most comfortable playing as a second striker so he can attack the opposing defense facing the goal. He is dangerous shooting from distance and can also set up his teammates.
|
