By the numbers: here are 10 stats from the Colorado Rapids' 1-0 win over Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday night.
1. On a personal level, Dominique Badji has hit numerous career-highs in 2017. His game-winner on Saturday was his seventh goal of the season, passing the total he managed in 2016.
2. It was a first goal for Badji since July 22, when he netted in the 1-1 tie at Toronto FC.
3. Badji’s goal came from a delightful cross courtesy of German newcomer Stefan Aigner. Aigner, making a second successive substitute appearance, tallied his first assist in MLS.
4. This was the Rapids’ first win in 10 attempts, since defeating Houston Dynamo 3-1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on July 1.
5. It was also their first road win of 2017. They last won away from home on October 8, 2016, at BBVA Compass Stadium.
6. The Rapids were making their second trip to Texas in 2017 MLS action, and they returned with their second shutout, having drawn 0-0 at FC Dallas in mid-August.
7. Philippe Senderos made his MLS debut, as a central defender for the Dynamo. The former Arsenal and Switzerland player spent time on-loan at Everton in 2010, where he played alongside Tim Howard, as well as former MLS stars Landon Donovan and Tim Cahill.
8.Eric Miller enjoyed a career-high 24th start of the season. He has started every game he has appeared in this year. Last season, his first with the Rapids, Miller made 26 appearances, of which 23 were starts. He also went over 2,000 minutes played for the second time in his career.
9. The versatile Marlon Hairston is the only player to have featured in all 27 games for the Rapids this season. He went the distance on Saturday, which took him past 2,000 minutes in a season for the first time. He also now sits on 49 MLS starts.
10. Veteran defender Bobby Burling was an unused substitute in Houston. He was in the 18 for the first time since June 13, when he suffered a foot injury in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup win over Oklahoma City Energy.
