Round One
Rapids select Moise Bombito with No. 3 pick
Bombito, a 6-foot-3 defender out of the University of New Hampshire, was selected third by the Rapids. The Generation adidas signing earned second team All-American honors and was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, as well as the winner of the 2022 America East and ECAC Defender of the Year Awards.
In his time with the Wildcats, Bombito recorded four goals with two game winners while leading a highly successful defense in 2022.
Rapids trade No. 12 pick to Charlotte FC for GAM, 1st round pick in 2024 SuperDraft
The Rapids opted to trade their second first round pick with Eastern Conference side Charlotte FC. Colorado receives $50,000 in 2023 GAM and $50,000 in conditional GAM, as well as a first round pick in next year's SuperDraft.Â
Round 2
Rapids select Oliver Semmle with No. 12 pick
The Rapids' second round was highlighted by the 41st overall pick of goalkeeper Oliver Semmle. The 6-foot-3 pick out of Marshall University spent the last two seasons with the Thundering Herd, leading the 2020-2021 squad to victory by posting a shutout in the DI national championship game.Â
Semmle posted 71 saves over 35 games played with Marshall and comes to the Rapids ready to make an impact in goal alongside William Yarbrough and Homegrown Abe Rodriguez.Â
Rapids pass on final draft pickÂ
Colorado passed on making the 70th overall pick on Wednesday night to close out participation in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft.
